at SVEC 17072 Tye St. SE Monroe. Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig - Charlotte and George Hay, an acting couple, not exactly the Lunts, are on tour in Buffalo in 1953, with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac, "revised, one nostril version" and Noel Coward's Private Lives. Fate has given these thespians one more shot at starring roles in The Scarlet Pimpernel epic and Frank Capra himself is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinée performance. Will Charlotte appear or run off with their agent? Will George be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see Cyrano, private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two? Hilarious misunderstandings pile up on madcap misadventures, in this valentine to theater hams everywhere. Rehearsals start August 12. Opening is October 1 and runs three weeks. Directed by Eric Lewis. This is non-paying. The roles that will be read for are: Richard - 40-60: a lawyer with a sarcastic side, in love with Charlotte Hay and offers her the chance to run away with him. Ethel - 50-70: The mother of Charlotte Hay. She and George hate each other and she blames him for the lousy situation they are in. She is also very deaf. Please bring a head shot and resume. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Any questions, contact Eric Lewis at: havocat@comcast.net |
